Built by an SAP consultant who got burned
s4ready.ai exists because migrations shouldn’t fail in UAT.
In 2022, I was the lead ABAP developer on an S/4HANA 2021 brownfield migration for a mid-sized European manufacturer. We had six months, a tight budget, and 1.2 million lines of custom ABAP built up over eighteen years of ECC.
Our manual code review process consisted of two senior developers working through the simplification list PDF — 3,000 pages, updated quarterly — and searching for patterns using SE80 and a shared spreadsheet. We were thorough. We thought we were thorough.
UAT started. Week one: seventeen critical issues. BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE called with obsolete parameters. Three SELECT statements hitting views that don’t exist in S/4HANA. A BDC session for MM60 that the Fiori team had already replaced but nobody told us. A Unicode issue in a FORM routine that only triggered on extended character set material descriptions.
The go-live slipped by eight weeks. The client absorbed €90,000 in extra costs. The technical lead — a friend of mine — lost the account.
Every single issue would have been flagged by an automated static analysis tool on day one of the project.
That tool didn’t exist — at least not in a form that a small-to-medium consulting firm could afford or integrate without a SAP Basis team of twelve. So I built it.
Our mission
Make migrations predictable
Catch every compatibility issue at the code level, before testing, before go-live, before it costs someone their project.
Respect ABAP developers
We don't report noise. Every finding includes the SAP Note reference, a severity rating, and a code-level fix suggestion.
Democratise enterprise tooling
The best static analysis shouldn't require a seven-figure SAP contract. Freelancers and boutique consultancies deserve the same tooling as the Big Four.
Stay current with SAP
SAP ships simplification list updates with every SP. Our engine is updated automatically — you never analyse against a stale catalogue.
How we operate
- We are a bootstrapped, independent company — no VC pressure to sell your data.
- We publish our simplification catalogue version with every release so you always know what’s covered.
- We do not train any AI model on your submitted ABAP code.
- We are not affiliated with SAP SE. SAP, S/4HANA, and ABAP are registered trademarks of SAP SE.
